Biography
Lilia Kirilova is an international musician, playing and educated in Bulgaria, Germany and Austria, currently based in Vienna, Austria. She graduates at the National Music School “L.Pipkov” Sofia, Bulgaria and studies at the National Music Academy ''P. Wladigerow''. Then she continues her studies at ''Hochschule für Musik Saar'' (Saarbrücken, Germany), where she graduates as a Bachelor of Music and does Erasmus program at ''Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien'' (Vienna, Austria).
Over the past seven years, Lilia has been actively teaching violin and piano, sharing her musical expertise and inspiring students of all ages and backgrounds. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes both technical mastery and artistic expression, nurturing each student’s individual potential and love for music.
She has taken parts in numerous orchestral and chamber music concerts, festivals, recordings and tours.
As a performer, Lilia has participated in numerous orchestral and chamber music concerts, festivals, recordings, and international tours across Europe. Her rich experience includes collaborations with distinguished ensembles and conductors, as well as performances in renowned concert halls. These include Webern Orchester, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Norden Orkester, Austrian-Korean Orchestra, Moonlight Symphony orchestra, Vienna Ensamble, Junge Philharmonie Wien, “Pro Arte” Orchestra. She has played in music festivals and programs such as Academia Sighisoara (Romania), Music Campus Balchik (Bulgaria), ‘’Euopean Traditions and young Talents’’ (Bulgaria).
Lilia has taken part in concerts and tours in Musikverein (Vienna), Konzerthaus (Vienna) Berliner Philharmonie, Kölner Philharmonie, Danish National Radio Hall (Copenhagen), Royal Concert Hall (Stockholm), Concertgebow (Brugge), Sibelius Hall (Helsinki), Harpa Hall (Reykjavik) and many other halls in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy and China.
Drawing on her multicultural education and broad artistic background, Lilia brings a distinctive blend of creativity, sensitivity, and passion to her performances and pedagogy. Based in Vienna—a city with a deep musical tradition—she continues to explore new artistic projects, teach, and perform across Europe.
She speaks German, English and Bulgarian.
Lessons
Lilia teaches violin and piano both children and adults. She has experience already 7 years in which she has been teaching more than 50 students at age from 4 to 66 years. The goal of the lessons is to provide high quality education in a pleasant and welcoming way and to help students of any age to play, enjoy and learn about music.
For each student Lilia creates an individual development plan, using an effective variety of musical teaching techniques to make the lesson productive, fun and enjoyable.
The lessons are mostly focused on building good technique and include also music theory and basics of solfeggio and music harmony, as Lilia believes this knowledge improves the quality of playing and the understanding of music.
Her violin student (9 years old) has been awarded first prize with distinction at “Prima la Musica” 2024 in Vienna, Austria.
The music lessons take place in Vienna’s third district (near Schwarzenbergplatz).
